Solid oak dining table with six chairs

A dining table of 220 by 100 cm in solid European oak, made to order in a carpentry workshop in El Dahar in 2022, with six chairs upholstered in sand-coloured linen.

The top is a single 40 mm slab, oiled rather than lacquered, which means marks can be sanded away instead of living there for good. There are two worth mentioning: a ring near the head of the table and a shallow scratch about ten centimetres long. Both are in the photographs, neither is hiding.

The chairs are solid oak with a linen seat and back. One seat carries a faint coffee mark that survived two cleanings. The covers come off, and the upholsterer two streets from the workshop quoted me 700 EGP a chair to recover the set.

I am not putting a number on it. The table cost 180,000 to make, oak and all, and I know that is not what it is worth today, so tell me what it is worth to you and if we are close we have a deal. I would rather it went to somebody who eats at it than to a dealer who resells it.

It is in El Ahyaa on the ground floor and it comes apart into a top and two trestles, so the stairs are not a problem. I will help you load it, but I do not deliver.
