A furnished one-bedroom on the fourth floor of Aqua Vista in El Kawther: 74 m², with a balcony over the pool and a strip of sea between the roofs beyond it. It gets light from about ten in the morning, and the block opposite takes the worst of the afternoon sun.

Everything in the photographs stays. The bed and mattress are two years old, the sofa came from a proper shop rather than a roadside workshop, and the kitchen has a full-size fridge, an oven, a washer and a dryer. Plates, kettle and a decent set of pans are already in the cupboards. If you would rather have it empty, say so and I will clear it before you move in.

12,000 a month covers the compound maintenance, the pool and the guard on the gate. Electricity is on the meter and it is yours, and so are the water and the internet: WE and Orange both reach the building and the line is already in the flat. Monthly payment suits me, three months up front suits me better and I will take something off for it. The deposit is one month and it comes back in full if the flat returns the way it left.

It is my own apartment, so there is no agency commission and nobody in the middle taking a slice. We sign a normal lease and notarise it at the Real Estate Registry the same day, in my name as the owner.
